"I completed a 1 year Adventure Education Training course based in Tauranga and the latter part of my course we spent raft training on the Rangitaiki River. This was where I got my first glimpse of not only, Kaitiaki Adventures but also white water Sledging. From that moment I realised that Kaitiaki was the company and that sledging was the product that I was destined to pursue in my Adventure Tourism Career.
Since my acceptance into the Kaitiaki Whanau I've been elevated through the ranks aided by world class stable of guides to my present position as Senior Sledge Guide working on beautiful yet challenging rivers such as: The Kaituna, Rangitaiki and the pinnacle of sledge quiding globally the Wairoa River.
The great thing about working for Kaitiaki is the whanau environment and world class activities that we as Kaitiaki provide".
Geni's other interest's include: Touch Rugby, snowboarding, swimming and of course socialising.

Congratulations Nikki!!!
Nikki recently returned from the extreme down-river white water kayaking championships held in Vail, Colorado on Home stake creek,Teva Mountain Games, where she returned victorious once again. This has been no mean feat due to the fact that prior to the event Nikki and Stevie had their first son - Sammy.
Nikki is an inspirational role model to all young female kayakers in New Zealand.
The Whanau are pleased to announce Nikki & Stevie are expecting their second child in January 2010.

Kaitiaki, Ngati Pikiao Training Programme

About 80% of this years training participants are direct decents from the Hapu of Hinerangi - whom have direct lines back to the Kaituna River.
Operations Manager Jason Wright says "We are getting great results in this, our 2nd year of the training programme in conjunction with the marae (Taheke) & Waiariki Polytechnic. I believe the training programme is exposing the next tier of guides & positions Kaitiaki in good stead for the future."

Kaitiaki Warrant of Fitness
Kaitiaki Adventures recently underwent their yearly audit, with both Qualmark and Maritime New Zealand, receiving excellent results in both.
Operations Manager Jason Wright said "Receiving the lowest possible risk rating available yet again, for a grade 5 commercial rafting operation within New Zealand was a huge achievement from the whole whanau both on and off river personnel. We also found the Qualmark mystery shop tool hugely beneficial in moving forward".

Wairoa River
It's that time of year again!!
The Wairoa season is upon us so with this we encourage you to descend down the legendary Wairoa River, on this absolute world class white water rafting and sledging excursion.
Negotiate genuine grade 5 rapids such as the Rollercoaster, Mothers Nightmare and much more.
Open Sundays only during the summer months. Trips include courtesy transport and lunch with a deprture time of 12.30pm from central Rotorua.
